Mmm, that chicken kebab was scrumptious!

During the weekends, my mum, dad, sister and I went to Otara to go to the doctors so that I could finally remove the cast off my arm. We went there in my mum's big silver car. I was super excited to take my cast off because I had been wearing it for a long time.

When we arrived at the clinic, my mum and I went inside while my dad and my sister drove around the area looking for somewhere to park. My mum and I went to the nurse's room to take off my blue fibreglass cast. The nurse used a special circular mini saw to cut my cast open. I had butterflies in my stomach because I was scared that the nurse might accidentally cut me. Finally my cast came off but my arm felt really stiff. We washed my arm with soap and clean water because it hadn't been washed for a while.

Next, we went to another room to take an x-ray to see if my arm had healed. We went into a small room and I had to place my hand on a black screen while the camera took a picture of my wrist.

Soon after that, I had a conference with the doctor and my parents and he said that my arm had healed and is a lot better. Unfortunately he said that I'm not allowed to play any sports for at least two more months because it is still fragile.

Finally, we went back home. When I got home, I went to sleep because I was exhausted from a long day. I had an exciting day on Saturday. My favourite part was taking off my cast because I've been wearing my cast for at least a month and it really annoyed me.

Learning Intention: We are learning to understand and use the descriptive language.

Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I use adjectives to describe my visit to the doctors in Otara.

Mmm, that chocolate cake was delicious!

My brother's 18th birthday!
On the 21st of August, my brothers, sister, mum, dad and I went to my aunt's house for a family gathering to celebrate my brother's 18th birthday. We went there in my mum's big, silver car and it took us fourty five minutes to get there.

While we were driving to my aunt's house, we stopped at the Cheesecake Shop in Mt. Wellington to buy a cake for my brother. We bought a chocolate-strawberry flavoured cake and it smelt delicious when we bought it in.

Finally, we arrived at my aunt's house. We said, "Hello" and then we went to eat dinner. The food were severed to the adults first so I had to wait for a little while. Then I ate a full plate of food such as taro, spicy chicken wings, shrimp and so much more. I also drank cold refreshing water to quench my thirst.

Next, my cousin, my two brothers and I went outside to play with the rugby ball. We passed the ball around and whoever dropped it would be out or disqualified. It was a very hard game to play because we had to catch the ball with one hand which was one of  of the rules.

After a while, I started to feel bored so I went inside to play another game with my cousins and my sister. We played a game of hide and seek. I was the seeker and I had to count down to 50 and then shout out, "Ready or not, here I come!" Then I went out to look for the other people who were hiding. It was really difficult to find them because it was such a big house.

As time passed, we had to go to the living room so that my brother could blow out the candles on his birthday cake. We all sang the Happy Birthday song and then I gave my brother his present from all of us. It was a huge card that said, Happy Birthday on it with people's signatures and their messages to him. There was also a Google Play gift card that was $30 for purchasing applications, games, music and books. He said a big thank you to everyone.

Then we ate dessert. We had chocolate cake and ice cream with cones. I had a passion fruit flavoured ice cream in  a crunchy and delicious cone. I also ate a slice of a cake and it was delicious. The cake was smooth, sweet and moist.

After digesting for ten minutes, I went to the living room to watch the T.V. I watched the Rio Olympics. I watched volleyball and it was China playing against Serbia. I was cheering for China and luckily they won. It was the final so China got the gold medal and Serbia got the silver medal. I enjoyed watching volleyball because it was very cool to watch people work together as a team.

Eventually, we had to go home. It was very dark outside and it was getting late so we all rushed back home. I was exhausted and couldn't wait to go to bed to rest my tired body.

I had an amazing time at my aunt's house. My favourite part was playing hide and seek with my cousins. Maybe next time we can arrive there earlier so that we can spend more time with our family.
