I can't wait for my next tennis lesson!
On the 18th of March, Room 7 went to the top court to play Tennis for Kiwisport. Our coach was James and we had to get into pairs with one tennis ball to share between the two of us. My partner was Mana and we had to throw the tennis ball to each other without dropping it on the ground. The first pair to throw ten successful throws without dropping was the winner but unfortunately Mana and I didn’t make it to ten throws but we tried our best. Next, we used rackets to hit the ball to each other using the serving posture with the racket. My partner and I tried our best to make it up to ten without missing a hit and we were successful! I had so much fun at my tennis lesson with coach James and Room 7. I hope to learn even more tennis skills in the next session.

Eww! It smells disgusting here, I want to go back!
On the 28th of December, my family and I went to the petting zoo in Hastings (Hawk's bay). We went there in the car with our family so that we could spend time together.
When we arrived at the petting zoo I could see sheep, cow, pigs and horse. The zoo smelt so bad that I almost regretted going there.
Our family looked for a place to sit down, in the shade. When we found a pace to sit down, a tour guide approached us and showed us some eggs. She showed us emu eggs, ostrich eggs and chicken eggs. The egg I was impressed with was the ostrich egg because it was enormous, it was blue and had spots on it. Then she gave us a cup of popcorn seeds so we could feed the animals. I was so excited to feed the animals. The first animal I fed was the lamb. It was so cute and I wanted to hug it but it was behind a gate. The feeling of a lamb licking your palm feels slimy and disgusting like a slug slithering on your palm.
After that, I went to see the hamsters. The hamsters were light brown, big and fluffy. My cousins were holding them carefully. I wanted to hold the adorable hamster but my cousins were being greedy and they didn't let me hold them.
Next, I really wanted to ride the horses so I asked my mum if I could ride them and she said, "Yes!" I was so keen to ride the tall, big, brown horses. When I was on the horse I felt a bit scared because the horse was moving around too much that I started getting butterflies in my stomach. When I was on the horse I felt like I was in the olden days when people had to ride on the bumpy, brown, dusty roads.
When I finished riding on the horse, my sister and I decided to go around the petting zoo to see more animals. We saw ostriches and emus. I was scared of the ostriches because they were so big. We saw animals such as llamas, cows, pigs and so much more. We also fed more sheep and rams. My sister and I saw a big brown cow with humongous horns on it's head it was my faviroute animal. We also saw lizards and camouflaging chameleons and it was amazing.
After that, it was time ti back to the motel that we were staying at. I washed my hands before we went back in the car because we have been feeding the animals and we don't know where they've been. Then my auntie bought me an ice popsicle that was berry flavored.
When we arrived back at the motel, we ate slices of pizza with deep red colored raspberry drinks. The flavors of the pizza was, Hawaiian, pepperoni, ham and cheese and cheese and onion. While we were eating pizza, my sister and I were in our room watching T.V. The pizza was delicious and scrumptious.
I had so much fun at the petting zoo. My favourite part was riding on the horse and eating pizza because it was like an adventure riding on the horse.
Learning intention: We are learning to understand the language features of a recount.
Success criteria: I know I can do this when I use past tense and sequencing words correctly in my writing.
