With increasing online and digital content, it is difficult to know real information from 'fake news'. Using evidence from the game you played (Astria: Countdown to Impact) write a blog to list .the top 5 things you think people should watch out for to help identify fake news
From the critical thinking game that I have recently played with a partner, these are my ideas that I had gathered using the evidence I have collected.
1. Spelling Mistakes
Usually if a news source has certain spelling mistakes or the words are grammatically incorrect, it looks as if though the news source had rushed to get their source of information out and didn't take time to re-read and check the evidence that is given out to the world. Keep a look out for these types of news sources...😳
2. Check the sources
There are many popular sources that release news and most of them release factual and true information. If your reading a news article and the source is not that well known or if their is no detail of a source, it is probably false.
3. Check other news articles
When reading a news article and it seems a bit sketchy or false, check maybe two or more news source's latest headlines and see if they have an article with the same event that happened.
4. Check if it's recycled news
Sometimes news sources that are desperate for people having to read their articles, recycle old news from the past and change the people that are involved or the area that the event is located. Remember to check for that!
5. Sketchy and unrealistic
It is very obvious to tell if a news article is fake. If an article sounds really sketchy and doesn't have enough evidence to back up their information, then the best option is to carry on reading articles from another news source that is factual and provides real information.
