Thank you for the camera!!
We are learning to write a description of Monday's assembly.
I know I can do this when I write a brainstorm and a script describing Monday's assembly.
It was a very rainy day on Monday the 16th of November. All the students at Saint Patrick’s School had an assembly in Room 4. We sang the national anthem beautifully and then we said our prayers. Miss Chao gave out certificates for those who have been good role models at our school. She also gave out birthday cards and birthday pencils to those who have recently had their birthday. Then we had a special guest that gave our school a new camera from overseas. He gave the camera to us because he had seen our phenomenal short movies for Manaiakalani.

Setting:
Bobby and Monica’s house is on a snowy hill.
Script:
Narrator: It was a very snowy day and Bobby wanted to build a Snowman with his sister.
Bobby: Monica let’s go outside to make a Snowman!
Monica: Okay, but first I need to find something warm to wear.
Narrator: Bobby goes outside to wait for Monica.
Bobby: Ok, I’ll wait for you.
Narrator: Finally Monica finished changing and they went outside to build the Snowman.
Monica: Okay let’s gather the right materials.
Bobby: Carrots, rocks, sticks, a scarf and a hat.
Monica: Yes! So let’s get started!
Monica: All done!
Bobby: Nice job!
Narrator: Monica and Bobby went back inside and on the next day, something magical happened!
(The snowman jumps up and came to life)
Mae: Ha, what a horrible Snowman! I can make a better one.
Narrator: Mae kicks and destroys the Snowman. However, the Snowman rebuilds himself and throws snowballs at her.
Snowman: How dare you kick me!
(Mae runs away screaming)
(Bobby looks outside)
Bobby: Wow! The Snowman came to life! Monica, come look!
(Monica runs towards bobby and looks out the window)
Monica: Wow, you're right Bobby, it is alive!
Narrator: Monica and Bobby went outside to see the Snowman.
Snowman: Now I am your guardian, I will protect you whenever you are in great trouble.
Narrator: Monica and Bobby goes to school and bumps into Mae.
Mae: Your Snowman threw a snowball at me so I will do the same to you! (Mae throws snowballs to Monica and Bobby)!
Snowman: Hey, don’t throw snowballs at them!
Mae: Oh no!
Snowman: Now apologise!
Mae: I’m sorry and goodbye!
Monica: Wait, how did you get here, you can’t walk!
Snowman: I flew in the air.
Bobby: What? That’s impossible!
Snowman: No it’s not, because I’m magical, right?
Monica and Bobby: Oh, yeah!
Snowman: Now go back to your classes now. It’s getting late!
Monica: Aww, but there is a very hard test coming up.
Bobby: Do you think you can help us?
Snowman: Definitely, what is the subject?
Monica: Maths and science.
Snowman: Ok, then let’s get started!
Narrator: Monica and Bobby went back inside their class and starts their test with the magical Snowman helping them.`
(Snowman tells the answers to them by murmuring).
Mae: Hey, you guys are cheating, I’m telling!
Monica: But no one will believe you, ha!
Mae: Well, I could tell the teacher that you’re copying other people, ha! Mr Madam, Monica and Bobby are cheating by looking at people’s work.
Mr Madam: Monica and Bobby, you have failed the test!
Narrator: Monica and Bobby finished their hockey lessons and accidentally left the Snowman outside in the blazing, hot sun. Mae was quietly spying on the Snowman melting down and somehow she felt sad for the snowman.
Mae: Hey guys, I’m so sorry for everything.
Bobby: Mae it’s not the right time.
Mae: Yeah, I know but...
Monica: Just go away.
Mae: But I know where to take your Snowman.
Bobby and Monica: Where?
Mae: Ok, it’s here!
(Snowman melts)
Children: Nooo!
Mae: Sorry mister Snowman for everything I have done.
Snowman: That’s ok!
Monica, Mae and Bobby: We’ll miss you!
Snowman: I’ll still be in your hearts forever.
(Snowman gives them a souvenir)
Narrator: A few months later, the siblings became very good friends with Mae and the Snowman’s spirit is still in their hearts today.
The End! (Everyone bows down)
This story was based on Jesus who is always in our hearts and whenever we need help, he is always there for us!

Wow, this car is a mess!
On the 31st of October my dad, sister and I washed my mum's car at my cousin's house because it was hideously dirty. I was so eager to wash my mum's car to wash my mum's car because it was so much fun as it was a very hot day.
First we had to clean the inside of the car with a vacuums and rubbish bags. I cleaned as I could, it was as if my sister and I were looking for hidden treasures that people lost over time. We also stood on the car and looked at the stunning views of Aoteroa from the top of the car.
Then it was time to get the hose and the sponge to wash the car. Both my sister and I were anxious to wash the car. We rinsed the car with the narrow green hose. My sister and I washed the car happily with the sponges. We made each other wet because we played with the water, we were like creatures that couldn't breath without water (I was soaking wet halfway through washing the car). I was mad at my sister because when she was playing with the hose and she accidentally wet my shoes even though I weren't wearing them.
I didn't want to stop washing the car but sadly I had to because I had to go and look after my nephew who was crying 24/7. I cheered him up by watching some television with him, we watched ni hao kai lan. It was educational and really funny (for my nephew). It was educational because it taught us some facts about reptiles and lizards (even I learnt new things). Next, I read a children's pop up book called, Where's Spot? It was so entertaining for my nephew because he had never seen a pop up book before.
Finally when I finished reading the story, my sister and my dad had finished washing the car. I could tell that my dad and my sister were exhausted and soaking wet. After that, we went home for a snack and ate some crackers and juice. I t was so delicious and the drink was so refreshing especially for a burning day.
I had so much fun washing the car and looking after my nephew. My favorite part was getting to wash my mum's car because I loved playing with the water.

What a beautiful view!
We are learning to understand and use language features in my recount.
I know I can do this when I use time words and past tense in my writing.
On the 24th of October my mum, brothers , sisters and I went to Mt. Wellington, I was so excited to go up the mountain.
When we arrived on the mountain, my brothers, sisters and I climbed up the mountain. The hill were so steep that we could barely walk. We had to use our hands to get past the very steep part.
Once we reached the top of the mountain we were panting like dogs because we used up a lot of energy going up the mountain so we were exhausted. We were standing at the top in silence when my brother decided to go down to the crater. My sister and I decided to stay and watch the beautiful view of the sun setting across the horizon.
After a little while, we walked to the summit quickly but carefully because the hills were extremely rocky. We all felt the wind blowing on our faces and we had chills. Once we go to the summit we played around like headless chickens. I also had butterflies in my tummy because I thought I was going to fall off the edge of the mountain.
After a while, we jogged carefully back to the car because it was getting dark. My brother and I walked very quickly. While we were walking we played I spy... I said, "I spy with my little eye, something beginning with 'c'!" My brother gave me the correct answer and said, "cars"
Once we got in the car, my mum drove us to Carl's Jr to have some $5 fish and chips (it was yummy and cheap). The food was fantastic.
Soon after we had our meal, we all went home feeling exhausted and full, I decided to watch some T.V for relaxation. We watched the Laughing Samoans. It was hilarious because they danced in a silly way.
I had so much fun on Mt. Wellington. My favourite part was climbing up the steep mountain and eating the delicious food.
