Mmm, I love barbecues!

On the 15th of December, my family and I decided to have a barbecue at my Grandma's house. We went there in the car and I was really excited to eat the yummy food with my family.

When we arrived at my grandma's house we started cooking. We made potato salad and vegetable salad. I peeled the fresh brown potatoes with my dad and aunt, it was very boring because it was the same movement over and over again.

After that my mum and I had to wait for the food to cook in the oven. We played with a deck of cards so that we won't get bored while waiting for the food. My mum and I played speed. It was really fun. The aim of the game is to get rid of all your cards and then say "Speed!" It was really hard to teach my mum the rules of the game.

After a while, when the food was ready and out of the oven, my brothers and sister and I went outside to play touch and it was extremely fun and tiring at the same time because my brothers were to compete because they are professional touch rugby athletes at their school.

Then we went to enjoy the food we had prepared for the family. The food was phenomenal. We had different types of food like chicken, sausage, patties, potato salad and vegetables. Mmmmm! We also has sauce as a dip for the food.

When we all finished eating the adults were having a meeting so the kids and to keep quiet and look after the little ones. We played tag and we tried hard not to scream like little kids. When the sun started to fade, my sister and I looked through a book full of word finds. We had a challenge to see who will complete their word find first.

Soon after a few hours my whole family went to the sitting room to watch the Joseph Parker fight. The game was starting and everyone was screaming and shouting to the t.v. I was laughing at the way they were fighting.

Finally we had to go home and have a rest because it 12:00am already and I was exhausted.

I had so much fun at my grandma's house and my favorite part was eating the yummy food.
We are learning to write a recount using the correct language features.
I know I can do this when I use sequencing words and time words. 

Wow! The movie Pan is amazing!

On the 10th of October my siblings, my dad and I went to the Hoyts cinema at Sylvia Park.

When we arrived at Sylvia park, we decided to buy some food at Pakn'save. We bought some hot dogs and drinks.

Next we went into the hoyts building and we bought two tickets for Pan and three tickets for Maze runner 2. I watched Pan with my brother because it was the only movie that was suitable for me. My sister, dad and other brother watched Maze Runner 2. We all bought some popcorn to eat. I was so excited and ready to the movie. I ran to the cinema swiftly and quietly.

The movie we watched was a preview of Pan. It was about a boy named Peter who tried to defeat Blackbeard in order to find out where his mum was.

They went on an amazing adventure with crocodiles, fairies and Mermaids. Unfortunately Peter Pan's mother was killed my Black-beard and even though Pan was sad, he still had the power to fly and defeat Blackbeard.


I enjoyed the movie that I watched and I hope that I would be able to watch it again. After the movie I walked slowly to the car because I felt tired and excited to go back home to have a rest.

I had so much fun at the movies and (I hope I can go to the movies again to watch another great movie like Pan.
We are learning to understand and use descriptive language in my recount.
I know I can do this when I use at least 6 adjectives in my recount. 

Have you been to the Botanical Gardens?

On the 30th of September, we went to the botanical garden to  my nephew's second birthday. We travelled there by car and I was super excited to go there because it was my first time going there!

When we arrived at the Botanical gardens we had to wait for the others to come with the food and the birthday cake.  We had to wait for a long time so we decided to walk around the place. It was a big that I didn't know where to look first.

Finally they came and we found a place to sit but we were not very sure about it because it did not have enough shade to cover us from the sun.

Eventually we found a marquee that was next to a stunning view of a cherry blossom tree.

Then we all ate some snacks. We had chips, biscuits, cheese crackers and water to quench our thirst.

After a while we went outside to play some games with the rugby ball. We played touch and it was very fun. After a while my sister and I stopped playing and we went to entertain some of the little kids by blowing out bubbles for them to catch and pop. We took some photos of the cherry blossom tree and they looked pretty and bright. Next we went to have some cake.We sang the Happy birthday song and said a prayer to bless the birthday boy. The cake was a rainbow cake and it was so delicious. I wasn't too sweet and it wasn't too bland, it was just right!

After a while, we went for a walk around the beautiful garden. First we took a look at the flowers. Then we had to hurry because the sun was going down and the garden was about to close down. I had butterflies in my stomach thinking that were going to be stuck in the garden FOREVER!We made it to the stream where all the ducks were and they were black and they had green colored feathers. We walked on a bridge and took a lot of photos. There were so many streams and rivers that looked very calm and relaxing. My sister and I found a boat and took pictures in it. The pictures looked so funny.

Unfortunately after that we had to leave and pack up because it was getting dark and my grandma was waiting in the car for us. I was exhausted and I knew everyone else was as well. I had a good time at my nephew's birthday party.

I had fun and I hope that next time I go there we can explore the whole garden and take more pictures to keep as memories.
