Did you know that the hole in the ozone layer can affect what happens in our future?

The Ozone layer is a part of the stratosphere that absorbs most of the sun's radiation. At ground level, the ozone gases can be harmful to life but in a higher level, it protects and absorbs the majority of ultraviolet sunlight which is very powerful source of radiant energy from the sun. Our ozone layer is like a natural sunscreen for us, if we were exposed to the sun and there was no ozone layer surrounding the Earth our skin would burn almost immediately.

A hole had been discovered in the ozone layer around the time of 1980's by scientists and it had been and still is being discussed by politicians for years now. This is also known to be titled as the ozone depletion. The ozone layer which use to be thick, has slowly become thinner every year and scientists have gathered proof that our human-made chemicals are the cause of the damage in the ozone.

Most people are trying to find as many possible ways to repair the damage that's already been done by us. We can start first by informing others about the damage we have created to our ozone and what we can do about it. Refrigerants containing CFC damages the ozone layer. CFC is a combination of carbon, hydrogen, chlorine and fluorine which are usually gases that come from refrigerants and aerosols. When the sunlight waves hit the CFC gases in the higher atmosphere, a bond between carbon and chlorine breaks. When chlorine gas from substances such as aerosols reacts with an ozone molecule it breaks it apart and creates or makes the hole larger in the ozone.

As part of trying to prevent this from maintaining it's damage to the ozone we should also start recycling fridges instead of simply throwing them away. Another reason which is causing our ozone to take damage is global warming and climate change. When our cars, trucks and buses release fossil fuel gases which is found in heavy vehicle traffic interacts with sunlight, it forms a low-level ozone. Low-level ozone can also result to widespread respiratory problems, facilitating their infections and worsening asthma. Damage to the ozone can also reduce the growth of plants and their hydration. By us starting now to prevent damage, it could also prevent future environmental disasters which may already be happening now.

Rainbow's End!

The amusement area is for ages so let's start off with the Children's area. There is an area named, "Kidz Kingdom" and it has plenty of rides that are for ages 9 and under. They're fun and joyful rides and definitely a way to put a smile on a child's face. These types of rides are roller coasters that are short but certainly sweet and they take you to a whole new world of fun.

Rainbow's End is a Theme Park or an entertainment center for families and children. It is located in Manukau, Auckland New Zealand. The theme park was designed with rides, shops, arcade areas and stages.

People commonly know Rainbow's End for their amusing rides that are suitable and definitely fun for all ages. However, we need to learn that safety always comes first. These are some ways that show the rides are checked to be safe. All rides are supervised and checked by staff members. The staff members are behind a box, they are controlling the ride and making sure it is in good shape. This will help them make sure that people are safe on the ride and not close to falling off. A staff member's job is to also go around to check if the seat-belts are secured and tightly locked onto the people.  

 

The Greenhouse Effect!

The Greenhouse effect occurs when heat is trapped into the earth in which  it causes an increase in warmth. The greenhouse effect negatively impacts on a lot people, places and the environment.

This  impacts on the melting of icebergs and blocks in cold areas such as Antarctica. It causes water to enlarge or increase in size. Seeing that, in the future there could be a possibility that the water might overflow onto islands that are surrounded by water such as Fiji, Samoa and Tonga because the islands are very small and basically enclosed by ocean water. They could either be overflowed by water or even sink into the ocean.

Secondly, the greenhouse effect from the sun can be too hot and end up heating up or dehydrating the land. This could dehydrate plants, trees, crops and many more natural substances in this world. This could lead to lack of food, plants and an increase of heat degree.

The Greenhouse effect is very dangerous and could affect a lot of things in this world especially in the near future.

About Glasses!

What is a pair of glasses?

Glasses come in different shapes and sizes. They are used for many different reasons. There are sunglasses, prescription eyeglasses, accessory glasses or even safety glasses.

The sunglass is used to protect your eyes or prevent yourself from looking at the sun. Sunglasses can be worn as accessories on summer days. People like taking them to the beach or the swimming pool.

Reading glasses or prescription glasses are used for people who can't see very well. They are also used by people who have trouble seeing tiny and small pictures, words and small objects from afar.

Finally we have the safety glasses, something that builders, electricians or plumbers need to use when doing something that might hurt or go into someone's eyes. For example if a builder was sanding or cutting wood with a machine, wood shavings would fly everywhere and it would hurt someone's eyes painfully and it could cause a splinter to go through an eye.

Glasses have been around for a long, long time and it's still being used by people today for the exact same reason it was built for that is because it can keep us safe and keep us fashionable.

North Carolina gets hit by tornadoes every year!

A tornado is a natural disaster. It is a violent column of air that swirls around buildings and houses. They appear in a funnel shape or in a slender-rope like form.  A tornado can destroy large buildings, trees and vehicles.

Most tornadoes form from thunderstorms. A tornado occurs when warm, moist air and cool, dry air meets creating instability in the atmosphere. A change in wind direction and an expandation in wind speed creates an invisible, horizontal spinning effect in the lower atmosphere.   

A waterspout is caused by tornadoes. It is just like a tornado except that it twirls only around the top of the sea.

After a tornado hits, many houses are broken down or covered in rubble. This causes a lot of thunderstorms and very heavy rain.

A tornado is very dangerous and can cause a lot of damage. There are a lot of tornadoes that forms in North America because they get a large source of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and they get warm dry air from other countries which forms the huge tornadoes.

Why does a volcano erupt? 

A volcano is a mountain with a crater filled with molten lava, ash cinders and gas that erupts when the volcano is active. A volcano is very violent and it causes a lot of damage to the environment.

Volcanoes occur along the boundaries of the earth's plates, where molten lava is forced upwards with pressure from the magma pool. Some volcanoes are active and some are extinct. When a volcano is active, it means that the volcano still may erupt one day. If a volcano is extinct, it means that it will not erupt.

Sometimes after a volcanic eruption other natural disasters including floods, landslides, earthquakes and forest fires. The ash in the air affects both humans and animals. The initial eruption usually releases the pressure of the volcano, lava continues to flow several years after the eruption.

Volcanoes are very hazardous and they cause a lot of damage. After a

volcanic eruption, the whole environment is covered in ashes. Houses and buildings are broken down or burnt badly. People may be seriously injured or even die from the eruption.

Netball is very similar to basketball!

It is good to be a good friend so you can spend time with someone and have fun!

 

To be a good friend you can be kind by sharing toys and being kind to each other.

 

There is another important reason why being a good friend is amazing.

It is amazing because you are showing manners by saying thank you when you get something from someone. You can also be friends by saying please to get something. It is important to show manners so that you can be invited from your friends to lunch.

 

To be a good friend you can include others in your game when someone is alone. You can also pay attention when someone is talking to you.

It is marvellous news to be a good friend so you can have a lot of fun.
